What Are You Thankful For? +Future Plans

Did everyone have a great weekend? Maybe you caught the Black Friday Weekend/Cyber Monday sale? I actually didn’t bother too much with that this year as I found that I didn’t really need to buy anything, nor did I want to buy anything just because of a huge sale. Maybe this is a part of being more ‘grown up’ – just by being a more practical person? (…which technically, is something I’m striving to be more of however ironic this whole blog may seem.) I am fully aware that it was Thanksgiving last week, so Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrated it! I almost wished it was tradition here in the UK but I guess, in conjunction with Valentine’s Day, Mother’s/Father’s Day etc. you can always be thankful and loving regardless of festivities. I will say though, I particularly admire Thanksgiving because it doesn’t rely on gifting at all. This year, I am thankful for finding a sense of self through this blog. Writing and sharing stream-of-line thoughts is completely free, and in many ways very relieving …

Two Clinique Repurchases +Mini Reviews

I don’t think I’ve actually clarified what my favourite skincare brand  is but if you were to ask me, I would definitely mention Clinique. It all started with one product that one of my good friends recommended to me a few years back (FYI, it’s the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel…) and ever since, I have gradually tried more products from them. It’s still a modest amount but enough to say I love the brand – I have yet to find a product from Clinique that I don’t like so much. Shall we start? In short, I repurchased the Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm and the All About Eyes Eye Cream. Topped with this, Debenhams were doing a 10% off AND when you buy 2 or more items, you receive a freebie kit. It was too good of an offer to not take up! In the freebie kit, I received: All About Eyes Eye Cream (7ml) * Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ (30ml) Superdefense Daily Defense Moisturizer SPF 20 (7ml) Superdefense Night Recovery Moisturiser (7ml) High Impact …

My Current Treatments Routine

Due to the weather change, in the last month I have been more pro-active in keeping the hydration levels of my skin up. Although I have combination/oily skin, I think the same can be said for everyone else that there comes a time when our skin is more vulnerable than normal. A lot of the time (regardless of if your skin is dry/oily/sensitive), we are guilty of suffering from dehydration which causes a skin imbalance. Once that problem gets out of control, more problems seem to arise. Red alert. This is where treatments come in handy! (Ironically, it is super windy outside. Strong winds can be harsh on our skin and blow out any moisture therefore ideally, it needs to be treated.) Here are the featured items that I’m going to be talking about in this post:  Garnier Pure Active 3-in-1 Wash Scrub and Mask The Body Shop Blue Corn 3-in-1 Scrub Mask (discontinued) The Body Shop Mineral & Ginger Warming Massage Clay Mask Biore Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips My Scheming Blackhead Removal Activated Carbon …

Just Me, My Mind + A Cup of Coffee

I hope everyone is well! It’s been a while since I’ve done a casual blog post where it’s just me chit-chatting and telling you my current thoughts. Today – or rather this month, I’m in more of my reflective moods so I wanted to lay it all on the table on what’s upcoming on this blog which has become so much more homely to me in a matter of months. The layout is closer and closer to what I had imagined my blog to be like with sensitivity to the content I would create – that I want to create. A few years back, I would never have imagined I’d be doing this but here I am, seamlessly enjoying this space that I can call my own without having to compromise. This is my space after all. Firstly, I want to say thank you to everyone who has viewed and liked my posts in the past 3 months where I have been posting more regularly. However great or small the amount, this has really encouraged me to continue on …

All The Things Makeup Taught Me (+Story Time)

Sometimes, ideas just come to me out of the blue without thinking too hard for it. Today is one of those days. I’ve been properly using makeup now for about two years. I say properly because I don’t quite count the times before that, as the time intervals were very irregular and therefore isn’t considered a routine. Honestly, it wouldn’t even add up to five products but funnily enough, the skincare routine was mostly in-check! I had the odd mascara and eyeliner which were my makeup staples if I were to put makeup on. Otherwise, 99% of the time I wore no makeup to school – all throughout high school, college and university. I have to say though, I’m not ashamed to admit that and for the most part, I think it did good for my skin in my earlier years when I had more acne. As a growing adolescent, you can say I was indifferent because many girls (and boys) start to have role models and idols but I actually didn’t have any urge to experiment …
