The Beauty Clean-Up #10 (empties)

The last time I did an Empties was in February but for some reason, it feels much longer than that. (I actually had a slight panic just now thinking this one was my first of the year, haha.) The weather couldn’t be any more bipolar right now. Last week was the warmest of the year, going up to about 22 degrees where I am in the UK. This week seems like such a stark contrast that it’s hard to believe it was ever sunny. In fact, tonight feels a bit more chillier than the previous few days – Spring, where art thou? Regardless of that, I still need to do a clean-out. As a result of a trip to Hong Kong, some empties were disposed of before I came back, so there will be no pictures of those items. I do however, have previous photos to reference it to since I did a whole post on what skincare products I brought with me here! + Would repurchase – Will not bother again = Neutral/Indifferent + …

If We Were Having Coffee #1

Today is one of those days where I’m feeling a bit “bleurgh!” but despite so, I want to write to my heart’s content. It’s a healthy habit don’t you think? I don’t smoke. I don’t drink. Certainly don’t do drugs but I’m learning to write more, especially when it comes to styles that display my stream of consciousness. If you were to open up my brain (well let’s be honest, that’s dangerous and I’d probably die), then here are the lingering thoughts that you’d see. Or on a lighter note, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you: I don’t think I can share enough in words of how freeing blogging makes me feel and the sanity that it gives me. Am I allowed to say that it makes me feel secure and very real as a person? Am I insecure for admitting so? There are moments in life – especially now more than ever, where I feel a bit alienated and patronised however I don’t believe in retaliating. Creativity is a great thing when …

Quarterly Favourites #1

Some new changes! I decided to follow a new set-up for my Favourites posts. Although these are my favourite to write (oh, the irony), I am not as inspired to write them monthly anymore. Or rather, I should say I don’t have that many unique favourites each month to show you. There are some months where I’m still in love with the previous month’s favourites or where I haven’t tried anything new. Or worse yet, where I don’t like anything. So instead, I’m combining 3 months of favourites into one. I think this is more realistic anyways – I use products for months on end! If you hadn’t already noticed, I completely skipped February because I didn’t use anything particularly new. I probably only had two favourites so a post seemed pointless on those two items. My January Monthly Favourites still stands, of course, but for a moment, let’s just pretend I’m starting new and showing you my favourites from January to March. To change things up a bit more, I am including lifestyle favourites …

Setting Up a Good Morning, Good Habits Routine

Before I get started, I just want to say that this is a ‘life project’ that I’m still currently working on so it might seem a bit hypocritical of me to write such a post. However, I believe that being open, and writing more about the subject and the lifestyle habits surrounding it, will permit a smoother, positive thought-process that’ll allow me to succeed in the lifestyle that I want. If there’s one thing to know, it’s that practice makes habit. Everyone has habits. Some quite unique, and others which we’re all truly guilty of. What we don’t want is that slump period where your bad habits truly outweigh the good ones – sleeping late, waking up late, no breakfast, meal-skipping, zero exercise…the list goes on. And if you hadn’t noticed, each habit is like a magnet, except it doesn’t attract the opposite! In modern society in particular, I think there is a common excuse to say that we’re too busy to make what is otherwise known as positive change. But if we’re too busy for everything, when …

March in Progress

I am enjoying the pun in the title slightly too much. 😝 Now that we’re in April (!!), I wanted to summarise March almost in diary-form (I say almost since this is a monthly affair, not daily). Did you guess? Today’s tone is more casual and a stream of consciousness. This is in response to my earlier post, Embarking on a Fitter Journey + Why, and will be the first of many. I wasn’t initially going to write progress posts but I think this exercise will benefit me greatly. Sometimes it’s too much to keep up with new changes and habits, so it’s just easier to record it in one place so that I can unravel my thoughts and decide what works, what doesn’t. Also – I figured that being open has helped A LOT in this process so far, so why not continue being open? General Lifestyle I am waking up earlier and have been slowly improving my morning routine which includes making my bed, having a good breakfast, a quick but effective skincare routine. …
