Month: January 2018

January Monthly Favourites ft. Real Techniques and Bobbi Brown!

I am thrilled to talk about this month’s favourites! Ā Last month was quite a boring month (even if it was Christmas month…) because I didn’t really try anything new or if I did, it was very late within the month. Mainly, I stuck to my previous favourites so nothing changed. Despite so, my last favourites post actually fared really well, so thank you everyone! šŸ™‚ I haven’t been beauty shopping much* because I am trying to use up what I do have whilst also resetting my current collection – both in skincare and makeup. This month’s buys consist only of two brushes (featured here) but everything else are months old in terms of purchase, so you can imagine my delight when I finally got round to trying (and loving) them! *I’ve bought bits and bobs from Home Bargains the other day, but they were extremely cheap and cheerful. Half were essentials and replacement items!Ā  Here they are, in all their glory, my favourites of the month… Featured in this post: Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil …

The Sunshine Blogger Award | Q&A

Another Q&A! You will probably be a bit sick of me this week as I have managed to post 3x (including this post) this week with 2 of those being Q&As. But please hold on a little longer; I will be away in a few weeks and whilst I plan to pre-schedule some posts, I may still be a bit quiet and inactive. I was nominated by A Little Driftless for this award, so special thanks to her. She tries out a lot of k-beauty products and travels a lot too (I am always jealous of the latter because some of the photos look incredible), so do check her out. Rules: Thank blogger(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog. Questions I’m Answering: Do you speak any foreign languages?   …

30 Beauty Questions Tag

It’s been a while since I last did a tag but from what I remember, they’re fun and interactive! I saw Stella’s post and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to take part too. šŸ™‚ I have told you a bit about myself in Q&As but I am sure that there are some beauty-related gaps that haven’t been filled. Well, you know what they say – if you don’t ask, you don’t tell!Ā šŸ˜ Let’s Start: Do you remember your first makeup item? I’m certain that it was a mascara by Rimmel. I doubt that they sell it anymore since it was so long ago! At the time, my eldest brother’s girlfriend wore this mascara but I cannot remember if she gifted one to me or if I just went ahead and bought my own. I do remember however, that she bought other makeup for me. šŸ™‚ Describe your perfect mascara. It has to hold the curl! Otherwise, it is a deal-breaker for meĀ I’m afraid. I like a mascara that lifts my lashes and gives …

A Handful of K-Beauty Masks

A few months ago, I hauled quite a lot of beauty products which included a total of five sheet mask singles hence the title. Today, I am back to give you my mini reviews of them. I was going to call themĀ first impressions but to be honest, I think my opinions will be a little too descriptive to call it that. Also, in my experience, I have never had a differing opinion from the first, when I tried the same sheet mask again. If in the future, I come across more K-beauty sheet mask singles, then I will make this into a reoccurring series. šŸ™‚ Let’s begin, shall we? TONYMOLY Iā€™m Real Sheet Masks in ā€˜Riceā€™: This is technically not my first time trying out Tonymoly masks, but it is my first time trying one from the I’m Real line. The fit for me was generally good as are the hole placements; however, the area between the nose and lips is too wide therefore covering up most of my upper-lip! There are slits too that …

Why Blogging Will Always Have a Place Above YouTube

In truth, I have watched YouTube longer than I have been reading blogs and occupying my own combined. However my disinterest in YouTube (with the exception of things like music videos, trailers, snippets of TV talk shows which I guess, technically don’t count) has been growing by the day. If anything, 2017 YouTube was quite the stepĀ backwards, at least for me – the shadiness, the slander, the multiple copies…I really could go on. Gone are those days of 2004/05 funny videos (actual funny content)Ā that we could share. Gone are those days of 2008/09 how-to/beauty videos that was simple with no unnecessary drama. Unfiltered, minimal editing (but still effective) with a relatable attitude. Nowadays, I find myself not being able to relate. Is it just me? If you know the YouTube drama that started 2018, then you know. If you don’t know, then maybe do some research (it won’t be hard to find, it really went global and there are response videos all over YouTube too). Apparently there has been other drama too in the beauty …
