It’s been a while

It feels so nostalgic to be sitting here writing a blog post. It’s been about two years but in actual fact, it feels longer. I won’t count back how many years it’s been in total since this blog emerged, or when exactly it was that it started gaining momentum and traffic. However, if there’s one thing I’m really gauging, it’s that I’ve missed writing an awful lot. Some of you who I’ve met via blogging will already know about my art journey via my Instagram, which started at the onset of the pandemic. I did blog slightly during that time (which you can find here and here) but overall, I switched my gaze to Instagram and found a community there like I did here. Despite so, I never exactly stopped writing. I used the caption of each art post as an opportunity to write a bit. It’s too long a story to indulge you on where I’ve been the past two or three years, but two things are certain: I’m older (though perhaps, none the …

If We Were Having Coffee #5

Happy new year, loves! I actually haven’t written one of these in a good 5/6 months so what better way to start the year off than with some coffee time on the blog? It’s undoubtedly still winter so grab your hot beverage and catch up with me below on where I’ve been and what I have set for 2020: If we were having coffee, I would tell you… Like every year, I make a group of New Years resolutions. Obviously, a good half of them are the same like any other year – read more, do more exercise, eat better, sleep better. This year, I decided that I would learn to cook and make some yummy new dishes. Towards the end of 2019, I got really bored of what I was bringing into work everyday food-wise – I just felt uninspired. I love food but to not put that same passion into cooking is quite frankly disappointing. I mean, I know how to cook but it would just be nice to make something new and …

My Busy Summer: Lessons in Self-Growth

Forgive me for having been absent from the blog for months. This summer just gone has been a whirlwind and quite frankly my busiest summer since…forever? It was nice though because I am not the type to book a holiday for next year. I do things in the moment or last minute which works well for some people and not so well for others. I am a spontaneous event planner. Somehow I found myself at a project after another and towards the end of my summer, I even went to Edinburgh for 4 days! Of course, these are all experiences accumulated from my new work but it was an unforgettable summer. I have met so many new people and whilst I can see more challenges ahead, it’s a start of something. A spark. Whether I should let it burn, ignite, is another story but I’m continuing the journey anyway. I haven’t written a life update since my last, so here’s a summary of events that took place this summer for me and what I took …

If We Were Having Coffee #4

This time it’s Mocha. Thank you for the love in my last If We Were Having Coffee session! I might make these a monthly/bi-monthly series to keep it going more consistently throughout the year – what do you think? I love writing them as it keeps me in-tact with my thoughts so it’s definitely an idea. It still continues to be a busy month but I just saw off the end to a project last week and am starting a new one next week at work with small projects in-between. A part of me just thinks I’m not made for an easy life but sometimes the rewards are sweeter. If we were having coffee, I would tell you: I am going through a journey or two right now where I’m facing a lot of my fears and in the process of defeating them. I may have mentioned in a new year goals post that I wanted to make 2019 a year about me, for me. It’s over halfway through the year and I feel that …

If We Were Having Coffee #3

(Or tea in this case.) It’s June: my birthday month. It doesn’t feel like June though. This time last year the sun was blistering for a good few weeks. We had quite a good summer actually – the hottest in all recent years reminiscent of how it was like in my childhood. I even took out my electric fan because my room gets super hot when it’s over 25 degrees. This year, it is a different story. We seem to be weirdly reversing back to winter again especially this week – averaging about 14 degrees! It’s doing well for my skin though so there’s that. I thought I would do a catch-up post because it’s been a while yet again. I may look to do a separate life update altogether but for now, let me update you on my current thoughts in a stream-of-consciousness style. If we were having coffee, I would tell you: This year has been a really tough year so far although it has gotten slightly easier. I am persevering though and …
