My Current Hair Styling & Treatment Routine

We’re moving into a slightly different topic today which is something I never talk about: hair. The reason being is that I’m very low maintenance when it comes to my hair. Give me a hairdryer and I’m good to go. I don’t use heat spray nor do I straighten or curl my hair. (For the record, my hair is already very straight.) However, having gone for the chop just over 2 months ago, I have found the joy in styling my hair now and again. Here’s my (very) easy hair styling routine for those higher-than-low maintenance days where you fancy something a little bit extra! — If you follow me on Instagram, then you may recall me attending my best friend’s wedding as bridesmaid. In the lead up to that, I couldn’t cut my hair even though I really wanted to so my method in keeping my hair as healthy as possible was in using a hair mask. Normally, you would just use this once a week but for me, I upped this to twice …

Review: NYX HD Finishing Powder

It’s been over 6 months since my last review! This is actually one that I had written up a few months ago but for some reason, I never made it live. For those who are new to my reviews, they are a little few and far between as I tend not to follow trends or review products that are popular or hyped. In fact, I usually do the opposite! (I think it is much more authentic this way.) I am however looking to put out more reviews this year than I did in 2019. Right, let’s jump into the review for today shall we? What is it? It is described as a ‘lightweight translucent powder that helps soften the appearance of fine lines and pores’. How much does it cost? £9. Not super expensive but for a drugstore brand, it’s not exactly cheap either. I think drugstore products are getting more expensive overall though. Where from? NYX is readily available in Boots and Debenhams in the UK. I purchased mine from Boots. Who is it …

How Much Does My Skincare Routine Cost?

It’s probably not the right time in the year to talk about money but everyone knows that I’m a self-proclaimer in not following trends. 😛 Besides, I am not making you buy a product; we are just having a discussion because who hasn’t thought about the accumulated cost of a particular category? I had thought about joining the gym this year but when doing the math, I didn’t think that me spending £300 a year was going to be efficiently used because I actually wouldn’t go (I don’t enjoy it enough to go). Skincare on the other hand…I wouldn’t say I would spend profusely on it but certainly there have been times where I’ve spent money on the whim without looking at descriptions or reviews of the product(s) in question. I have never calculated how much my skincare routine is worth so this could turn out to be very interesting. For those who follow me on Instagram, I already shared one of my skincare routines. That’s right, I am currently running two skincare routines so …

#Selfcare Sunday Series | How to Make your New Years Resolutions/Goals Count This Year

Happy Sunday! I hope everyone has had a re-charged weekend! I have been sleeping terrible overall…I just can’t seem to get comfortable but most of all, I have been finding it hard to shut my mind down. Even though on the surface and in general, my personality is very chilled, my mind is in fact going 100mph. Does anyone have any tips for sleeping better? I’m going to try some different teas to see if that would help but at the moment, I’ve been feeling like a zombie. Anyways – back to topic: I wanted to tap into more advice-giving posts this year so to start 2020 off, I’m going to be rounding off my best tips to getting your New Years resolutions in-check this year! If you don’t believe in them, that’s totally fine – just replace them with any goals throughout the year that you may have! Create a Rough Timeline Note that I mentioned ‘rough’. It’s important to have clear goals but nothing is set in stone unless you have a deadline …

My First Project Pan

For someone who loves compiling Empties posts, I can’t believe that I’ve never planned a Project Pan and documented it! In my mind, there were a few items that I had wanted to empty out last year or at least use more of however this never got achieved so again, some of the items remain collecting dust. Nevermind being a beauty blogger – I mean I am not really invested in that title, but as someone who has spent money on lots of items, I ought to be more responsible in using up the products unless it is really bad. So here’s my attempt at being more responsible this year and less of a hoarder! The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution 60% left to be used I don’t know what it is but I just don’t naturally reach for this. It took me a long time to open this and when I finally did, I didn’t find myself being excited enough to use it. It’s not actually a bad product per se but is …
