10 Rules: Long-Haul Flights and Traveling

For those of you who don’t know or are new to my blog, I recently went on a 3-week-long vacation to Hong Kong to visit a lot of family, and to in turn, celebrate Chinese New Year. It is not my first time going – I have been countless of times but I am still not perfect in what I pack as much as I have gotten used to long-haul flying and the 3-hour coach journey to and from Heathrow Airport. But this time round, I was happy in a couple of new steps that I took because trust me – I have made so many mistakes before. So here’s me, letting you in on the 10 rules that can help define a comfortable (but not unfashionable) long-haul journey, not just on the plane but when you’re at your far-away destination too. Leggings will be your best friend I know. Such an easy one. But I’m that idiot who prior to this trip, had never worn leggings or athleisure-wear on a plane. From London Heathrow …

Gucci & Its Ever-Growing Relevance in 2017

If I could crown a fashion house for being able to embrace change, whilst still remaining relevant and true to itself, then I would happily crown Gucci as the winner. It’s increasingly become hard it seems, to take over a brand, revamp its image and receive positive appraisal. Or at least the last few years say so as many Creative Directors fail to stay longer than 3 years as sales and show response have been nothing short of mediocre. I won’t be naming any names in that category but I will say that Gucci have been going anywhere but down. Sure. The Gucci woman today is different to previous generations but somehow it just works. Sexy woman becomes eclectic geek chic because…why can’t a sexy woman be smart anyways? And dress well? Here, I’m dissecting the brand’s continuing success if you will – in snapshots of what makes Gucci so talked about and coveted, even amongst the youth; especially amongst the youth. The ‘GG’ Logo Makes For A Great Design If there is something to own by Gucci, then it is the belt. …

January Monthly Favourites ft. Eucerin, Kipling and Tommy Hilfiger

New year and a new month! What’s that all about? How did we even get here?  It’s strange to even think it was Christmas last month. It always passes by so insanely fast. The Winter weather has really started to kick in this month with colder temperatures and more need to snuggle up with a blanket and a hot drink in our hands. No white Christmas…and in fact, it was one of the warmest Christmases I’ve had but now? It’s cold! Some parts of the UK even had to deal with snow but over where I’m at, we’ve been just fine. This month’s favourites is a little bit of everything and much different to my previous favourites posts. We’re taking it back to some basics and self-loving!   Featured in this post:  Eucerin Intensive Lotion 10% w/w Cutaneous Emulsion The Cure Green Tea Collagen Essence Masks Notebook Organiser Kipling ‘Clas Seoul’ Large Backpack in Purple Gap Wavy Cable Knit Sweater Tommy Hilfiger Alexia Colour Block Sweater Zara Small Crossbody Bag I am aware that fashion pieces don’t stay long on …

Tumblr Taught Me: All The Ways to Wear a Sweater

I love a good sweater, do you? Okay, that wasn’t a very bright question because I can’t imagine anyone who doesn’t love a good sweater! The only time you might not like one is if it’s not a good sweater at all (very dependent on fit and feel for me) or if you’re not quite wearing it right and making the most of it! I am a large hoarder of pretty things. On the internet. (See what I did there? Albeit, in real life I hoard what I can because…limitations.) And my recent platform for that is Tumblr. (Yes, I’m very late to the game.) These are just a snippet of pins that I’ve reblogged on my Tumblr over time that I think are full of sweater-envy and style-envy. Are you ready? Broken is Beautiful Your sweater has a large hole in it? Don’t throw it away just yet! I know. It’s disheartening when your favourite piece of knitwear gets caught on a piece of jewellery or some other device and gets ruined. But it’s still not a …

#PFW S/S17 Welcome to the Revolution! | Favourites 2

Known as the ‘City of Love’. Love for so many things that do not exclude Fashion. Love for the Arts, the People, the Culture. This is Paris! Sacai This is one of the newer brands in my vocabulary that I’m getting to know more and more about 🙂 and this season may have been their strongest collection to date! To give you a little insight, the brand is founded by Chitose Abe who previously worked as a pattern cutter under Rei Kawakubo at Comme Des Garçons and later, as a design member at Junya Watanabe. From there on, you can expect super creativity but it doesn’t stop there. No. It never stops. The dreams keep rolling. The aesthetic of Sacai is fresh, exciting and ever-evolving that moving from New York to Paris to show, cements its worth. You can expect the mixing of different fabrics from Sacai – quite like collage, executed with such finesse that the idea of collage was a second thought. The clothes though! It’s worth seeing any video footage you can find, as …
