3 K-Beauty Sheet Masks You Need To Know About (+ Try!)

I remember when I was younger – in my teens and on my family trips back to Hong Kong for the summer, I would buy and try out Asian skincare and even some less well-known Western skincare brands. This was way before online shopping was considered a) secure and b) extremely convenient. If you have family or even friends, who quite regularly go back ‘home’ or at least to their relatives’ motherland, then you may know about asking them to help buy you some skincare as a souvenir (yes, it’s a thing!). Flip to the present, and you’re able to online-shop these products – whether they are necessarily cheaper is another story but the heart always wants what it wants. I have had one shopping experience on YesStyle and a few on Ebay regarding Korean skincare…but shipping time can be as long as two weeks. Now I’m happy to share that this might change very soon (my UK readers, I’m looking at you) because I actually bought a few K-beauty goodies at TK Maxx. Featured in this post:  The …

All The Things That Worry Me

Hello all! I hope that everyone is having a chill Sunday so far. Sorry for being MIA lately. I decided that I needed some time off from digital space and instead of force-writing some posts (even if I do have a million ideas), I decided that I needed a break because I wasn’t in the best of moods to write. (See last post: The Fruits of My Life.) Don’t worry. As negative as the title sounds, I promise that this isn’t a negative post by any means. Think of it as a prelude to everything else that follows in this section of my blog: ‘Writing and Creative Thinking’. Think of it as…because I’m writing, that I am okay. After all, I am sharing something with you. 🙂 I have had this idea…these ideas, for quite some time now and I’m happy to announce that I will be writing an unlimited number of posts. I guess you can call it a series because I’ll be numbering each post as the series goes on, for as long as there’s something …

The Fruits of My Life

Over a week ago, I made a challenge to myself in the form of resolutions in my Reset: 7 Changes I’m Making in 2017 post. So far, I’m actually doing a really decent job of it if I do say so myself. My mind has been clear and I just do some of the activities without thinking too much into it such as the result. Mindfulness is something that I’m practicing now. I mean…can I say that? I haven’t read too much about the topic, nor do I meditate however I have put more focus in the moment.  I focus more on the fruits of my life. The things that I do have rather than what I don’t have, and plant my seeds there; to improve more and learn more. To expand the branches and make them stronger; bloom. To use my existing skills to build new ones. I breathe. I only think about the one activity that I’m doing in the moment. And it helps. Last week, we (me and my family) had to go through one of …

Follow-up Review on The Ordinary Skincare

You may have caught up with my quite recent haul: The Ordinary Skincare which I talked about briefly here as a first impressions. Now that it’s been over a month since incorporating some of the products (4 out of 6)* into my routine, I feel that I have acquired a better opinion about them overall. Without a doubt, they have improved my skin but how? Let’s find out! The products featured in this post are:  Advanced Retinoid 2% Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% *I have not incorporated the Vitamin C moisturiser at all into my routine for reasons explained in my first impressions post. As for the Azelaic Acid Moisturiser – it has finally been dispatched after being out-of-stock since end of November. Chemical Exfoliation I use Advanced Retinoid 2% and Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% together, one after the other. This step is performed after I have cleansed and toned my skin, 2-3x a week. It has made the biggest difference to my skin and I cannot sing …
